Job summary

Amentum is seeking engineering professionals with education and/or experience to support Big Data analysis and modeling in support of Naval projects in Dahlgren, Virginia. This on-site role requires collaboration with a growing Systems and Software Engineering team to deliver analytic solutions for DoD programs.

You will perform data modeling, analytics, and coding tasks, with Agile development practices. Successful candidates will communicate effectively with customers and engineering teams

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in Big Data analysis or modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (CS/Physics/Math/Engineering) or equivalent experience.
• Active Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
• Must have a valid REAL ID driver’s license and transportation for occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform Big Data analysis and modeling with coding aptitude.
• Support Naval projects by conducting Big Data modeling (SLBM programs).
• Assist a Senior Amentum developer within Agile development timelines.
• Analyze problems and communicate solutions to customers and engineers.
• Work both independently and within teams to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrate familiarity with Agile Development and effective communication.

Job description

Amentum is seeking engineering professionals with education and/or experience to support Big Data analysis and modeling in support of Naval projects in Dahlgren, Virginia. This position is on-site in Dahlgren, VA, where Amentum has provided support to the customer for over 60 years.

You will be part of our growing systems and software engineering team and contribute your diverse skills across multiple software contracts in support of our Software Center of Excellence. We are looking for individuals to join our team atmosphere who are eager to make a difference by solving complex Digital Engineering challenges. Apply your skills to the latest DoD weapons and sensor systems, modernizing the Navy and contributing to mission success.

Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills and be able to interact directly with customers and engineering personnel.

Big Data Model/Analyst Responsibilities Include:

• Perform Big Data analysis and modeling with some coding aptitude.
• Support Naval projects/programs by conducting Big Data modeling within the Submarine Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) weapon system.
• Primarily support a Senior Amentum developer in developing using Agile development principles.
• Perform analysis and problem-solving techniques in support of professional scientific and engineering work.
• Work independently and collaboratively within established teams and across organizations to meet established goals within schedule-driven timelines.
• Demonstrate familiarity with Agile Development.
• Communicate effectively with customers, engineering personnel, and team members.

Minimum Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering, or another applicable technical field, or equivalent experience in lieu of the education requirement.
• Must have an active Secret U.S. Government clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Candidate must maintain a valid REAL ID driver’s license, required for access to the customer site, and have access to reliable transportation, as this position requires occasional travel between local work sites during the week.

Compensation Details:

US: $80,000-$130,000
