Job summary

Mike’s Bikes in Walnut Creek is hiring a Bicycle Technician to repair a wide range of bikes, from race machines to daily commuters. You’ll work in a shop that values hospitality and growth, with mentorship from experienced mechanics and opportunities to learn advanced repair skills.

You’ll engage customers in person and via our digital system, maintain a clean and safe workspace, and follow safety procedures.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of bicycle maintenance preferred.
• Excellent communication and a quick learner.
• Capable of lifting and moving bikes up to 50 lbs.

What you bring to the table

• Ideally 1+ years of experience with bicycle maintenance
• A quick learner with technical aptitude and great communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable working with your hands and using tools regularly
• Physically up for it! Lifting bikes, climbing ladders, and moving around the store is part of the gig
• Comfortable chatting with customers in person and on the phone
• Capable of standing for long periods and performing repetitive motions
• Motivated to succeed in a goal-oriented, fast-paced environment
• Flexible and available to work weekends as needed

Hourly range

This compensation package will be dependent on experience, qualifications, and industry experience with a starting range between $18-$26/hr plus a bi-weekly bonus potential of $250. Experienced techs can potentially earn between $22/hr-$26/hr.

Requirements

Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend and explain documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English. Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, in English.
