Job summary

South Bay Christian Alliance seeks an Associate Pastor to work with the Lead Pastor. The role focuses on disciple‑making, building relationships, and equipping volunteers to grow believers spiritually.

Responsibilities include preaching, shepherding, leading meetings, and planning outreach. Bi‑vocational expectations require balancing ministry with outside employment; licensing with the C&MA is required. Do not contact the church directly.

Qualifications

• Visible relationship with Jesus Christ and spiritual maturity.
• Humility, integrity, emotional maturity, and teachability.
• Strong organizational and research skills.
• Ability to use Planning Center, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Asana and Proclaim.
• Strong relational, collaborative and communication skills.
• Ability to coach and develop leaders; delegate ministry tasks.
• Agreement with SBCA’s mission, vision and values and with the C&MA faith.
• Formal theological education; ordination in progress or willingness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and shepherd volunteers and ministry teams.
• Preach 1-2 Sunday services per month and lead Bible study and prayer.
• Mentor emerging leaders and oversee ministry leaders (Elders, Board, Deacons, Next Gen, Discipleship).
• Attend Elder, Board, Deacon, and Membership meetings as scheduled.
• Plan outreach events, ensure safe ministry practices and budget adherence.
