Job description

South Bay Christian Alliance - Chula Vista, CA
Associate Pastor

Working alongside the Lead Pastor, the Bi-vocational Associate Pastor supports the congregation in carrying out SBCA's mission and vision. Focused on disciple-making, building strong relationships, and equipping volunteers, this role provides spiritual guidance and pastoral leadership to guide believers in holistic spiritual growth.

About Our Church

SBCA Mission, Vision, & Values

Mission | We exist to connect fully to God and to His people so that we may share the love of God to the world.

Vision | We are part of a movement-turned-denomination, the Christian & Missionary Alliance. The vision of the C&MA is to bring all of Jesus to all the world (Matthew 24:14)

Values & Culture | Just as gardeners cultivate a garden, we cultivate these values in order to nurture a gospel culture.

  • Prayer. We believe that apart from Jesus, we can do nothing of eternal value.
  • God's Word. We strive to know truth from the Bible and apply it to our lives.
  • Connection. We cultivate meaningful connections to foster accountability, care, and spiritual growth.
  • Holy Spirit Empowerment. We rely on the Holy Spirit to empower us, without whom we can accomplish nothing.
  • We are a river, not a reservoir. The Great Commission mandates that we GO and make disciples. We train, encourage, and support our church members to be sent out.

  • Leadership
  • Equip, encourage, and disciple volunteers with vision, resources, and pastoral care.

    • Regularly do the work of evangelism.
    • Support and promote the work of missions through SBCA’s five-part Global Partnership Strategy: strategic prayer, worker care, doing our share, staying aware, going there.
  • Planning & Administration

    • Ensure safe ministry practices and child protection policies.
