Job summary

Flyover Attractions is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer to own our data platform end-to-end, from POS ingestion to Power BI dashboards. You will collaborate with Revenue and Finance to turn transactional data into trusted reporting, while handling occasional Level 1 IT tasks on-site, up to ~4 hours/week, on a hybrid schedule in Las Vegas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or BI/engineering role with pipelines ownership.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric (lakehouse/warehouse) or Synapse/Azure SQL/SSAS with Fabric focus.
• SQL Server administration for on-prem workloads: backups, recovery, patching, security, performance.
• Experience handling transactional data from ticketing or POS systems.
• Nice-to-have: Python/PySpark; Git/version control; Fabric Data Activator or notebooks; real-time analytics.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Azure Data Factory pipelines ingesting data from multiple POS systems into Microsoft Fabric.
• Architect and manage Fabric lakehouse/warehouse with capacity, security, monitoring, and cost management.
• Manage end-to-end database estate, including on-prem SQL Server footprint, backups, recovery, patching, and performance tuning.
• Design star schemas and semantic models; write DAX measures for attendance, revenue, per-capita spending, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with business teams to design and build Power BI dashboards; administer Power BI Service (workspaces, refreshes, security, app distribution).
• Translate reporting needs into structured, reusable data solutions; support self-service BI and end-user enablement.
• Serve as BI/Analytics SME to define data standards and documentations; evaluate Fabric capabilities as platform evolves.
• Occasional Level 1 IT tasks on-site (hardware, printers, peripherals) up to ~4 hours/week; remote support by Vancouver team.
