Job summary

Torrey Holistics in Petersburg, VA is seeking a Safety Technician to support the implementation and maintenance of EHS programs. The role includes inspections, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance across the plant environment.

You will assist with safety orientations, training, and documentation while ensuring PPE usage and safe work practices. This is an on-site position requiring collaboration with production staff and management.

Qualifications

• Entry-level safety role; 1–2 years of safety experience preferred but not required.
• Manufacturing, construction, or industrial safety experience preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• OSHA 10 certification is a plus; strong communication skills required.
• Proficient in safety documentation and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine plant safety inspections of production areas and yard operations to identify hazards and regulatory gaps.
• Assist with incident reporting and root cause investigations; help document findings.
• Support OSHA compliance activities, maintain SDS and safety records.
• Deliver safety trainings and toolbox talks to employees on the shop floor.
• Maintain safety files, training records, inspection logs, and compliance documentation.
• Manage PPE and safety equipment records and participate in safety programs.

**Summary of Primary Functions: **The Safety Technician supports the implementation and maintenance of the plant’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. This role assists in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and safe work practices. The Safety Technician works closely with safety specialists, production personnel, supervisors, and management to identify hazards, prevent injuries, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility.This role is based at the Petersburg, VA Tindall plant and Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are preferred.Safety Inspections and Hazard IdentificationConduct & document routine plant safety inspections of production areas, yard operations, maintenance shops, and mobile equipment to identify unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors, and regulatory compliance gaps.
