MSC Industrial Supply Co. is expanding its Analytics team in Davidson, NC. We seek a smart BI Developer who can bridge business needs and technical implementation, delivering scalable data models and insightful dashboards.

The role emphasizes collaboration, self-direction, and agile delivery in a data-driven environment. You will work with Tableau, Power BI, Looker, and other BI tools, with a focus on data governance, ELT processes, and mentoring stakeholders across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics or related field required.
• Minimum of three years of proven experience as a BI Developer or in a similar role.
• Minimum of three years of experience architecting, designing, and developing enterprise-wide dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Expertise in data modeling, ELT processes, with relational and dimensional database structures.
• Proficiency in SQL programming; experience with MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Extensive experience with BI and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, QlikView).
• Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with business stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable data models.
• Designs and develops high-quality dashboards and reports for timely insights.
• Creates interactive dashboards and data visualizations using BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, QlikView).
• Performs data analysis to identify trends and support decision-making.
• Provides accurate estimates and updates for active sprints/projects.
• Partners with data engineering and governance teams to develop semantic datasets.
• Optimizes SQL queries and database performance for efficient data retrieval.
• Implements data governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance measures.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate BI solutions into apps.
• Stays current with BI trends and recommends process/tool improvements.
• Fosters MSC culture and participates in special projects as needed.
