The company: Our client is a dynamic and well-established logistics company specializing in comprehensive worldwide shipping and freight solutions. Headquartered in Illinois, they are a mid-sized organization with 200-500 employees that provides a full spectrum of transportation services across all modes. They offer clients significant economies of scale, flexible carrier choices, and an extensive network of over 140 stations across the U.S. for 24/7 support. Their proprietary Transportation Management System (TMS) provides real-time visibility and control of shipments from any device. Known for delivering custom-tailored logistics solutions rather than one-size-fits-all approaches, excelling in LTL, Truckload, Airfreight, Ocean Freight, Intermodal, Expedited, White Glove, and Trade Show services.

Role and Responsibilities

• Recreate existing Tableau reports and dashboards in Power BI to support seamless transition and improved visualization.
• Collaborate on consolidating large datasets from legacy systems and archives into a new Microsoft SQL-based data lake, utilizing Databricks for efficient data loading and processing.
• Optimize ETL processes to accelerate data imports, ensuring timely availability for reporting and analysis.
• Partner with internal data teams to interpret logistics and supply chain data, ensuring accurate representation in reports.
• Develop and maintain high-quality BI solutions that meet business needs for performance and usability.

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a BI Developer or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI for report and dashboard development; experience migrating from Tableau is highly preferred.
• Expertise in ETL processes, data warehousing, and tools like Databricks for data loading and transformation.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server or similar database technologies.
• Knowledge of logistics, supply chain, or freight industry data is a nice-to-have, but not essential—we provide domain expertise for collaboration.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
