Job description

GT was founded in 2019 by a former Apple, Nest, and Google executive. GT’s mission is to connect the world’s best talent with product careers offered by high-growth companies in the UK, USA, Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands.

On behalf of KD Pharma , GT is looking for a Data Engineer (Azure) interested in building and scaling a modern data platform to support Finance, Operations/Supply Chain, and Quality/Manufacturing functions.

About the Client

Founded in 1988, KD Pharma is a pure-play, technology-driven CDMO (Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization) dedicated to revolutionizing pharmaceutical and nutraceutical production. They are uniquely recognized for offering ultra-pure Omega-3 concentrates at commercial scale through patented supercritical fluid chromatography technologies.

Located in Germany, Norway, the UK, the USA, Canada, Peru, and with sales presence across Asia, they deliver end-to-end solutions from custom synthesis to finished dosage forms while adhering to cGMP and global certifications

Project

KD Pharma is undergoing a company-wide Data Revolution initiative led by the Global IT Director. The company is modernising its data platform and reporting landscape to establish a scalable, well-governed BI environment that supports better business decision-making.

Today, reporting is primarily delivered through Power BI , but multiple contributors have developed reports over time without consistent governance or standardisation. A previous Microsoft Fabric-based data warehouse was deprecated due to challenges in the ETL architecture, resulting in duplicated pipelines and inconsistent reporting.

As part of the ongoing transformation, KD Pharma is defining its future-state data platform while continuing to support day-to-day business reporting. This role will strengthen the client’s BI capability by maintaining and improving the current reporting environment while contributing to the evolution of the broader BI and data landscape.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports used across the business.

  • Translate business requirements into clear, reliable and user-friendly reporting solutions.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to gather reporting needs, clarify requirements and deliver actionable insights.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot and enhance existing Power BI reports, ensuring data accuracy and performance.

  • Support day-to-day BI requests, ad-hoc reporting and ongoing reporting improvements.

  • Help standardise reporting practices and improve consistency across the Power BI environment.

  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure reporting aligns with evolving data models and business goals.

  • Participate in defining future BI processes, reporting standards and best practices as part of the client’s Data Revolution programme.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the reporting landscape by identifying opportunities to simplify, automate and optimise existing solutions.

Essential Knowledge & Skills
  • Experience developing Power BI datasets, semantic models and DAX measures.

  • Good understanding of data modelling principles (star schema, dimensional modelling).

  • Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries, working with relational databases, and analysing data to support reporting and business insights.

  • Strong experience working with Azure cloud and services

  • Experience translating business requirements into meaningful dashboards and reports.

  • Experience supporting production BI environments and working with multiple business stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data quality.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • English level: B2–C1.
