Job summary

CTG is seeking a senior data architecture leader to design and deliver enterprise data platforms and scalable pipelines in a remote environment. You will architect ETL/ELT frameworks to ingest and transform data from diverse sources, building data warehouses and lakehouses to support BI, ML, and analytics.

The role emphasizes governance, security, and alignment with enterprise standards while exploring real‑time analytics and AI/ML capabilities across cloud ecosystems.

Qualifications

• Experience with API design, CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Strong understanding of data security, encryption, access controls, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Job description

Location

Remote – Eastern/Central Time Zone preferred; travel to Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE required every 4–6 weeks

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and deliver enterprise‑grade, cloud‑based data platforms and scalable data pipelines using technologies such as Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Kafka, Snowflake, and Power BI.
• Architect ETL/ELT frameworks to ingest, transform, and integrate data from legacy financial systems, SaaS platforms, and real‑time data sources.
• Design and oversee data warehouses, lakehouses, and analytics environments supporting business intelligence, machine learning, and reporting.
• Establish data governance, metadata management, data quality, security, and data lifecycle standards in alignment with Enterprise Architecture and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with Enterprise Architecture, engineering, product, compliance, and other stakeholders to ensure solutions align with architectural standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps.
• Evaluate emerging data technologies and lead proof‑of‑concept initiatives involving real‑time analytics, data mesh, and AI/ML platforms.
• Develop architecture diagrams, data flow maps, security models, technical specifications, operational runbooks, and other solution documentation.
• Guide Agile/DevOps teams in implementing CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure‑as‑code, and data solution deployment practices.

Scope of Responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end architecture for enterprise data platforms, including technology selection, integration patterns, scalability, security, and implementation planning.
• Develop ETL/ELT designs and modernization strategies for new data sources and legacy systems.
• Define data governance frameworks addressing quality, lineage, metadata, and access controls.
• Assess solution performance, scalability, risks, security requirements, and disaster recovery considerations.
• Support prototypes and proof‑of‑concept implementations for emerging data engineering capabilities.
• Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, interoperable, regulatory‑compliant, and aligned with Enterprise Architecture standards.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and direction to cross‑functional Agile/DevOps teams.
• Collaborate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders across engineering, product, compliance, and architecture functions.
• Lead technical evaluations, architecture reviews, and solution design discussions.

Education and Experience Required

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in solution architecture or technical implementation, including 2+ years focused on data engineering or enterprise data platforms.
• Strong experience designing data platforms, data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and distributed data solutions.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP and cloud‑native technologies, including containerization and Kubernetes.
• Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses, data modeling, metadata management, and data quality.
• Experience with API design, integration technologies, CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Strong understanding of data security, encryption, access controls, privacy, and regulatory requirements such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable, integrated solutions across multiple technology domains.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Education and Experience Preferred

• AWS or Azure Solutions Architect, Certified Data Engineer, or similar certification.
• Experience with Databricks, Kafka, Snowflake, Power BI, Azure Data Lake, or comparable technologies.
• Experience supporting financial systems, payment networks, liquidity management, settlement processes, payment gateways, digital wallets, or related financial technology.
• Experience with real‑time analytics, data mesh, AI/ML platforms, and modern data architecture patterns.
• Experience with financial regulations, compliance frameworks, security standards, and risk management.
• Familiarity with Jira, SDLC processes, Agile methodologies, and enterprise architecture frameworks.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $43.06 - $71.76/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
