Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking a Mental Health Counselor to join the Behavioral Health Unit in Joliet, IL. The role focuses on emotional support, crisis intervention and coordinating care within an interdisciplinary team.

This position requires a strong foundation in psychosocial assessment, discharge planning and documentation, with a commitment to patient- and family-centered care. Full-time days with rotating weekends/holidays.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related required.
• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field preferred.
• Current registration or intern status with the appropriate board.
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained.
• Minimum one year inpatient or outpatient behavioral health experience preferred.

Overview

• Deparment: Behavioral Health Unit
• Schedule: Full-Time, Days, 7a-7p, every other weekend and rotating holidays.
• Facility: Prime Healthcare St Joseph Hospital
• Location: Joliet, IL 60435

*This is a Mental Health Counselor position.

Responsibilities

To provide emotional support, crisis intervention and counseling; information and referral; referrals for financial assistance and supportive services to patients and families with problems that are related to treatment services, illness, disability or trauma. To provide case management & milieu management, complete psychosocial assessments, assist in the development and re-evaluation of Treatment Plans and work as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and to coordinate discharge planning. Complete necessary documentation and maintain clinical record for each client during his/her length of stay.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Bachelor’s degree Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or other related required.2. Masters in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor or related field, preferred.3. Current registration an intern with Board, as appropriate to education and licensing requirements.4. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.5. Minimum one (1) year Inpatient l or Outpatient Behavioral Health experience preferred.
