City of Virginia Beach seeks a licensed Clinician III for the Intensive Outpatient Program. You will conduct individual, group, and family therapy with adults with co-occurring disorders, implement DBT, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction strategies.

The role requires licensure in VA (LPC/LCSW/LCP) or eligible, a four-year human services degree, and at least five years of relevant experience. A $4,000 hiring bonus is offered and the schedule runs Monday–Friday, with an afternoon/evening

Responsibilities

• Complete complex clinical assessments for annual reviews including needs, risk, DLA-20s and suicide assessments.
• Develop and write treatment plans for IOP/SUD clients and complete quarterly reviews.
• Submit Medicaid authorizations and re-authorizations.
• Provide process groups, psychoeducational groups, individual, family and couples therapy, and crisis counseling.
• Assist in program planning, implementation and evaluation to improve service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have experience conducting individual, group, couples, and family therapy with adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), trauma informed care, and harm reduction strategies. A $4,000 hiring bonus is being offered for this position! Responsibilities:Complete all complex clinical assessments for annual reviews to include Comprehensive Needs Assessments, Risk Assessments, DLA-20’s, Diagnostic Review, and Columbia Suicide Assessments.Develop and write all treatment plans for individuals entering the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or expanded substance use disorders (SUD) services and complete their quarterly reviews.Submit Medicaid authorizations and re-authorizations.Provide both process groups and psychoeducational groups, individual therapy, family and couple’s therapy and crisis counseling.In the absence of the Clinical Supervisor and Program Supervisor, delegate tasks, ensure the safety of all individuals in the program at all times, handle crisis situations, ensure all work is completed in a timely manner, communicate with the administrative team, and be knowledgeable about policies and procedures.Responsible for individual monitoring, answering telephone inquiries, knowledge of referral sources, and documentation in individual charts.Assist in program planning, development, implementation and evaluation to strive for continued program service delivery to individuals.Act as the consultant for others on the team to discuss complex case conceptualizations, treatment planning and discharge planning.Must have professional licensure and registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP), or licensed eligible LPC in the State of Virginia.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:30pm - 11:00pmAfternoon/evening schedule associated with this position are eligible for shift differential pay according to City policy 2.08.Preferences:Experience conducting substance use disorders (SUD) groups.Experience conducting individual therapy with SUD adult individuals.Experience conducting couples and family therapy with SUD individuals.Experience and Knowledgeable with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).Experience in trauma informed care.Experience with co-occurring mental health and SUD counseling.Experience utilizing harm reduction strategies.**Hiring bonuses shall only be for new hires of original full-time employment or re-employment as defined in Human Resources Policy No. 5.0.$1,000 will be awarded in the first paycheck.$1,250 will be awarded upon completion of the six (6) month interim performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations.”$1,750 will be awarded upon completion of the employee’s one (1) year probationary period and a performance evaluation with an overall rating of “Meets Expectations”.The City offers a generous benefits package which includes health, dental and life insurance, retirement, and savings plans, maternity/paternity and parental leave, holidays and paid leave.Additional requirements:• DMV Transcript: Yes• CDL: No• Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse: No• CPS Check: Yes• Physical: No• Respirator: No• Psychological Screening: No• Polygraph: No• At Will: NoMinimum Requirements:MINIMUMS: Requires a four (4) year degree in a human services field (such as psychology, behavioral or mental health, special education, social work) and five (5) years utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities and associated with such positions as clinician, counselor, therapist, social worker, psychologist or psychiatric nurse OR any combination of education (above the high school level) and/or experience equivalent to nine (9) years in fields utilizing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with such positions.
