Job summary

The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services is seeking Part-time Direct Support Professional II specialists to work with adults with intellectual disabilities in an ICF setting on Indian River Road. Shifts listed include Friday–Monday 2:00pm–9:30pm and Saturday–Monday 12:00pm–10:00pm.

Responsibilities include implementing individual plans for ten clients, assisting the team with daily activities, maintaining records, and overseeing medication processes.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED and 2 years ID/DD experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience with adults with intellectual disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist shift leader with daily assessments and assignments.
• Maintain ledgers, inventories, and room sanitization.
• Manage medication process including MAR review and counts.
• Attend medical appointments and document consultations.
• Mentor new staff under supervision and communicate respectfully.
• Ensure safety at work and proper food handling.
