Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston is seeking a Swim Instructor to teach swimming techniques, water safety and class management for participants of all ages.

The role involves maintaining a safe pool environment, enforcing rules, scheduling lessons, and recording progress in the MindBody system. Prior experience and CPR/AED certification are preferred.

Qualifications

  • The Swim Instructor teaches swimming technique, skill, and water safety.
  • Minimum one year swim instructor experience.
  • Knowledge of all four competitive strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle) and elementary backstroke/sidestroke.

  • Effectively teaches swimming skills and safety to children and adults.
  • Interacts with every child in class.
  • Monitors class participation.
  • Maintains a safe atmosphere.
  • Coveys an enthusiastic, positive, and professional attitude.
  • Assists in cleaning up the pool area after lessons.

  • Ensures that safety and injury prevention policies and procedures are adhered to by participants; reports accidents and prepares accident reports, as required.
  • Record weekly lessons in MindBody scheduler at the end of the week.
  • Performs other tasks assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor.
