Reports To: Beverage Manager / VP of Hospitality

Position Summary:

El Cortez Hotel & Casino is seeking an energetic, service-driven Beverage Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our beverage team throughout the property, including the iconic Roulette Bar, Show Bar, casino beverage service, and our newest concept, Alex Prime. This leader will ensure exceptional guest service, uphold operational standards, coach and develop team members, and help create an exciting beverage program that reflects the historic character and evolving future of El Cortez.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a passion for hospitality, craft cocktails, employee development, and delivering memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced casino environment. Similar casino beverage supervisor roles emphasize leading bartenders and cocktail servers, maintaining service standards, managing staffing, inventory, and guest satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the day-to-day operations of all assigned beverage outlets.
• Lead, coach, motivate, and develop Bartenders, Cocktail Servers, Beverage Porters, and Barbacks.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily goals, promotions, VIP arrivals, and operational updates.
• Ensure every guest receives prompt, friendly, and exceptional service consistent with El Cortez standards.
• Monitor beverage quality, presentation, consistency, and speed of service.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and ensure complete guest satisfaction.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new beverage team members.
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and documentation of employee performance.
• Partner with Human Resources on employee relations, corrective action, and performance improvement.
• Monitor labor costs and staffing levels based on business demands.
• Assist in preparing employee schedules and managing attendance.
• Ensure compliance with all Southern Nevada Health District regulations, responsible alcohol service laws, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate liquor controls, inventory practices, and waste reduction procedures.
• Monitor beverage comp procedures and ensure proper documentation.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and maintaining beverage supplies.
• Ensure bars remain clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout each shift.
• Work alongside the team during peak business periods to maintain service standards.
• Collaborate with Culinary, Casino Operations, Security, Marketing, and Special Events to support property-wide initiatives.
• Assist with beverage menu development and seasonal cocktail promotions.
• Promote upselling techniques to increase beverage revenue while enhancing the guest experience.
• Prepare shift reports and communicate operational issues to management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume bar, restaurant, or casino beverage operation preferred.
• Previous experience as a Bartender strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, classic cocktails, and modern mixology techniques.
• Experience supervising Cocktail Servers and Bartenders.
• Excellent leadership and coaching abilities.
• Strong conflict resolution and guest recovery skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient with POS systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Licenses & Certifications:

Must be able to obtain and maintain:

• TAM (Alcohol Awareness) Card
• Food Handler Safety Card

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting.
• Ability to work in a loud casino environment.
• Ability to work around secondhand smoke in designated gaming areas.
