Job summary

The Venetian Resort Las Vegas is seeking a Beverage Shift Manager to supervise bar operations across casino bars, lounges, service wells, theater bars, and the gaming floor while delivering exceptional guest service.

You will coach Team Members, manage reservations and banquet events, monitor performance, ensure SOP compliance, and maintain knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, and local liquor laws in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Health card, TAM card, Nongaming card and any other certification or license required by law.
  • 2 years of experience managing shifts in beverage department required; prior experience managing multiple locations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixology, and bar operations.
  • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Interpersonal skills with guest needs at the forefront.
  • Proficiency in POS systems and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to set up and break down bars.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with diverse teams.
  • Flexible schedule including overnights, weekends and holidays.

  • Prioritize productivity and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu items, brands, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic selections.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless service.
  • Recruit and train new department Team Members.
  • Manage orders, inventory, and theft/fraud prevention as a financial steward.

Job description

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations throughout The Venetian Resort casino ensuring that all Team Members perform duties in accordance with department standards while delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Guides, executes, and upholds a service and management approach that provides direction to the team.
  • Supervise day-to-day beverage operations throughout casino bars, lounges, service wells, theater bars, and the gaming floor, including management of lounge reservations, banquet event orders, and related functions.
  • Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction by maintaining exceptional service standards and responding to guest issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitors Team Member performance and coaches in the moment to ensure our department’s standards are being met.
  • Prioritize team productivity and ensure departmental objectives are consistently achieved, monitored, and reviewed for ongoing improvement.
  • Maintains a consistent presence in the bars and lounges to drive efficiency and ensure proper staffing.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, wines, and beers and non-alcoholic selections available.
  • Demonstrate a consistently positive and encouraging attitude at work.
  • Plays an active role as a member of management, communicating effectively in meetings, following through on tasks assigned in a timely manner and meets deadlines for assignments or projects.
  • Conducts routine shops of essential areas to ensure Team Members are properly trained on all service standards. Provides coaching and counseling as necessary.
  • Deliver performance feedback to Team Members and address disciplinary issues, providing guidance in accordance with company policies.
  • Enhance Team Member skills to improve departmental efficiency while managing resources to minimize costs and avoid unnecessary expenses.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of, adhere to, support, and execute departmental policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Promptly and professionally manage and resolve concerns raised by Team Members and guests.
  • Inspects each bar daily throughout the shift to ensure proper ambiance, staffing levels, supplies and sanitation all up to standard. Communicates and resolves issues in the moment as necessary.
  • Conducts business in a professional manner and communicates effectively with other departments, including Security, Gaming, and Facilities, to ensure alignment and seamless service.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory control of beverage products and supplies.
  • Recruit and provide training for new department Team Members.
  • Plays an active role as a financial steward of the department ensuring that orders are accurate, recipes are being executed with 100% accuracy, staffing levels match business levels and monitors and corrects opportunities for theft or fraud.
  • As a shift manager in a 24/7 operation, scheduling flexibility is essential for this role.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and upholds grooming standards for all Team Members throughout the shift.
  • Consistently embody and uphold the core values of The Venetian Resort Hotel & Casino in all professional interactions and responsibilities.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all hotel services, amenities, and local attractions to provide accurate and informed responses to guest inquiries.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of, and ensure strict compliance with, state liquor laws—especially those related to serving minors, intoxicated individuals, and the prevention of impaired driving.
  • Safety is an essential function of this job.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must be flexible with schedule and be able to work varied shifts, including overnights, weekends and holidays.
  • Willingness to work extended hours when needed.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Lift or carry 30 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
