Job summary

Wind Creek Hospitality is seeking a Beverage Server to service drinks to guests at Gaming Machines and bar areas within the gaming facility. You will greet guests, take orders, relay to bartenders, garnish as needed, and ensure compliance with alcohol policies.

The role requires 21+ age, a high school diploma or GED, and ability to pass required training and tests. Strong guest service, English communication, and reliability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; GED within six months may be accepted.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Six months related experience preferred.
• Willing to lift and carry 20 lbs continuously.
• Pass job interview, including guest service audition.
• Mature, dependable and punctual attitude required.
• Ability to speak effectively in English.
• Illinois Gaming Act license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, and daily specials.
• Greet guests, take beverage orders and relay to bartenders via POS and PLU numbers.
• Garnish drinks as needed; prepare beer, wine, and frozen drinks as required.
• Pass Responsible Service of Alcohol test and comply with policies.
• Ensure compliance with Alcohol Policies & Procedures and Internal Controls.
• Maintain adequate beverage inventories and timely reports; keep premises safe and clean.
• Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly; perform other duties as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintains complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, daily special products and services available in the assigned venue
• Greets guests, takes beverage orders and relays them to bartenders, effectively utilizing the POS system and PLU (Price Look Up) numbers, and utilizing the appropriate Order Call system
• The ability to garnish drinks as needed
• The ability to prepare beer, wine, and frozen drinks as needed
• Must be able to pass Responsible Service of Alcohol Test
• Complies with established policies on Reasonable Service of Alcohol
• With assistance from the Beverage Manager, assures each individual site is in compliance with WCH's Alcohol Policies & Procedures regarding the sale of alcohol on Tribal property
• Ensures sufficient inventories are maintained to meet the needs of the beverage operation
• Ensures that all applicable reports are completed in a timely mannerEnsures the physical condition of the premises are maintained in a safe, healthy manner
• Ensures that all applicable operating policies and procedures are adhered to at all times without deviation and be extremely knowledgeable of the Minimum Internal Control Standards, Alcohol Policies & Procedures, and Fiscal Policies and Procedures
• Anticipates guests' needs, responding promptly and acknowledging guests even when busy
• Other duties & responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
• Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
• Six (6) months related experience and/or training- preferred
• Willingness and ability to lift and carry 20lbs continuously throughout the day
• Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
• Must possess a high level of maturity, dependability, and punctuality
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of Wind Creek Hospitality
• Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats
• Must successfully complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service, and BASET training
• Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations
• Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
• Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position

Base Pay

• Compensation:$9.00–$14.00 per hour, with starting pay based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and skills.
