Job summary

Columbia Distributing in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Sales Associate to support sales, merchandising and distribution across assigned accounts. You will help execute business objectives, maintain relationships with customers and internal teams, and travel locally as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required; Minimum of 21 years of age.
• 1 year of beverage industry sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sell, rotate and merchandise the Columbia Distributing portfolio in all assigned accounts.
• Provide route relief for Sales Representatives as scheduled.
• Interact respectfully with inter-company departments, suppliers and customers.
• Establish and maintain industry knowledge: beer, non-alcoholic, food journals, trends, market share, etc.
• Maintain themed programs to meet supplier and company standards.
• Submit required reporting, preplans, trackers, surveys, MVPs, expense reports, mileage logs by due date.
• Manage inventory expenses per policy.
• Understand and assist MVP Standards.
• Monitor competitive activity and communicate strategies.
• Demonstrate accountability and strong industry product knowledge.
• Exhibit excellent oral and written communication; build relationships with customers.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Work indoors with frequent walking in customer accounts.
