Job summary

Pavement Coffeehouse seeks a Beverage Program Manager to shape quality, consistency, and innovation across our cafes and roastery. The role blends quality control, R&D, equipment care, and team education in onsite cafes, with regular time at the roastery and HQ.

You will lead beverage QC, drive menu development, oversee preventative maintenance, and foster a culture of coffee education for staff and customers. Flexibility and travel to stores and HQ are required.

Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of coffee, beverage craft, and the specialty coffee industry.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects (QC, R&D, equipment, training).
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented approach to quality and consistency.
  • Comfort and confidence leading trainings, tastings, and workshops for employees and customers.
  • Excellent communication and ability to build trust with managers, baristas, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quality control on beverages and beverage ingredients in-store and at the commissary kitchen.
  • Lead menu development and new beverage R&D.
  • Oversee equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and triage work orders.
  • Support managers in maintaining training standards, modeling service excellence behind the counter.
  • Foster a culture of coffee education and engagement through tastings, cuppings, workshops, and demos.
  • Stay knowledgeable about Pavement's roasting, green buying, beverage flavor profiles, and industry trends.
  • Monitor inventory and ordering practices to maximize freshness and avoid outages.
  • Monitor costs by reducing waste and identifying supply chain improvements.

Job description

Pavement's Beverage Program Manager will play a key role in shaping the quality, consistency, and innovation of everything we serve. We are looking for someone who is excited to bring their passion and knowledge of coffee and beverage craft to a role that blends quality control, R&D, equipment care, and team education across our cafes, while fostering a genuine culture of coffee curiosity and craft for both employees and customers. This is an onsite role that reports directly to the Director of Coffee, spending most of their time in our cafes with regular time at the roastery, commissary kitchen, and other locations as needed.

What you'll do with us:
  • Conduct quality control on beverages and beverage ingredients instore and at the commissary kitchen
  • Lead menu development and new beverage R&D
  • Oversee equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and triage work orders
  • Support managers in maintaining training standards, while modeling service excellence behind the counter
  • Foster a culture of coffee education and engagement among employees and customers through instore tastings, cuppings, workshops, and grocery demos
  • Stay knowledgeable about Pavement's coffee roasting, green buying, beverage flavor profiles, and coffee industry trends, in coordination with the Coffee Director and Roastery Manager
  • Monitor inventory and ordering practices to help managers maximize freshness and avoid product outages
  • Monitor COGS on new and existing products, managing costs by reducing waste and identifying opportunities for ingredient or supply chain improvements

Communicate and collaborate effectively with different levels of management and staff

What you bring:
  • Passion about Pavement and deep knowledge of coffee, beverage craft, and the specialty coffee industry
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects (QC, R&D, equipment, training) and shifting priorities
  • A handson, detailoriented approach to quality and consistency
  • Comfort and confidence leading trainings, tastings, and workshops for both employees and customers
  • Excellent communication and the ability to build trust easily with managers, baristas, and customers alike
  • 2+ years in specialty coffee
  • Flexible schedule and availability. Transportation to stores and our HQ required.
