Job summary

Hire Consulting Services in Indianapolis area is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for a confidential beverage manufacturer. The role leads maintenance technicians, prioritizes safety, and drives reliability across production lines.

You will oversee preventive maintenance, coordinate breakdown responses, and manage projects while partnering with Production, Quality, and Safety teams to ensure food-grade operations and uptime.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years of relevant maintenance experience.
• At least two years of education beyond high school through college or technical school.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, industrial control networks, electrical systems, hydraulics, and production equipment.
• Ability to organize maintenance workloads and guide technicians.
• Coordinate contractors and project schedules with expense oversight.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Flexibility to cover weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance technicians, assign work orders, and establish clear expectations for safety, quality, and performance.
• Coordinate breakdown response while ensuring preventive maintenance and scheduled repairs are completed.
• Plan upcoming work around technician availability, equipment priorities, and production schedules.
• Use root cause analysis and continuous improvement methods to resolve recurring failures and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Coach and develop technicians through performance feedback, technical instruction, and safety training.
• Track maintenance performance and work order completion to identify improvement opportunities.
• Support spare parts availability and effective maintenance storeroom practices.
• Partner with Production, Quality, and Safety teams to support food safety and dependable operations.
• Coordinate contractors and vendors while ensuring compliance with site safety requirements.
• Manage smaller maintenance and capital projects, including scheduling, resource coordination, and cost tracking.
• Maintain maintenance records and support established quality management standards.
