Job summary

Bada Bean Bada Booze is looking for a Beverage Experience Associate – Barista to deliver hospitable service while crafting specialty coffee and beverages and creating a memorable guest experience from entry to exit.

The position includes mandatory cross-training in our cocktail program and evening bar flow, supporting guests across day parts; reports to the Senior Guest Experience Manager; part-time hours with tips.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a fast-paced, clean cafe environment and sensory appeal.

• Perform other duties to ensure smooth cafe operations.

Beverage Experience Associate - (hiring baristas and bartenders) Pay + tip: $23-29/hr
Hourly: $14-18/hrPay Floor (including tips): $20/hr

Job Summary

A Beverage Experience Associate – Barista at Bada Bean Bada Booze is responsible for providing hospitable service while crafting specialty coffee and beverages and creating an excellent experience for our guests from the moment they enter the building until the moment they leave.

As a core requirement of the role, baristas will undergo mandatory cross-training in our cocktail program and evening bar flow to ensure proficiency across the full beverage menu and support our guests as their needs shift throughout the day.

Reports to: Senior Guest Experience Manager

Responsibilities

• Guest Interaction:
• Greet and interact with guests in a welcoming, personable, and professional manner.
• Remain calm while listening to guest concerns and complaints, ensuring a positive resolution.

• Order Taking and Preparation:
• Take orders and prepare both coffee beverages and breakfast food items.
• Present bills, accept payments, and operate the POS system efficiently.

• Barista Craftsmanship:
• Dual-Service Proficiency: Complete mandatory cross-training in our craft cocktail program and evening bar flow; baristas are expected to maintain high-level proficiency in both spirit knowledge and barista standards to serve our community at any time of day.
• Menu Expertise: Embrace the role of a barista by mastering espresso extraction and milk chemistry, while maintaining a deep understanding of our signature cocktail menu to suit our guests' specific needs and preferences.
• Industry Innovation: Stay relevant in the industry and be aware of new trends; create new items related to pop culture to easily engage with our guests.
• Exceptional Hospitality: Remain forward-facing and welcoming, creating an excellent experience for guests from the moment they enter until the moment they leave.

• Inventory Management:
• Take a proper inventory at the start of each shift to assure preparedness for a busy day.
• Restock and replenish inventory as the shift progresses.
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations and procedures.
• Date and label all food products. Always remember FIFO, first in first out.

• Operational Excellence:
• Maintain a flexible and focused approach in a fast-paced, growing environment.
• Ensure that the café environment satisfies all five senses: good smells, clean tables, tasty drinks, great music, and a clean, vibin’ atmosphere.
• Assure the space is always clean and ready for health inspections.

• Teamwork and Leadership:
• Be a rad co-worker, teammate, and leader in all situations, and feel empowered to make decisions.
• Support associates as needed and help cover shifts when necessary.

• Other Duties:
• Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the café.
• Communicate with management early and often to assure a smooth operation.
• Check 7Shifts Announcements, Messages, and Outlook inboxes at the start of each shift to be aware of any changes or updates to the daily operations.
• Use 7Shifts to communicate with coworkers, trade shifts, and request off shifts.

Note: This role may involve additional responsibilities not listed here. The Guest Experience Manager may delegate tasks but is ultimately responsible for their completion and success. The role requires adaptation to dynamic business needs and collaboration with various teams for overall success.
