Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse and Surgical Team members, responsible for handling surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment during general to moderately complex surgical procedures. Ensures understanding of the procedures being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon and surgical team. Provides support related to patient preparation, transport, and assisting with patient care to ensure safety and comfort. Responds to emergent situations according to established procedures.

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited Surgical Technology program required.
• Knowledge of surgical procedures within the OR, including practices and techniques for patient care and assisting surgeons.
• Minimum of three years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Certifications/Licensures

• Current BLS certification required.
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
