Job summary

Lipscomb University is seeking peer mentors for the BEST program on its Nashville campus. Mentors will work one-on-one with students who have disabilities to assist with academic work, planning, organizing, and social skills. There may be opportunities for afternoon or evening activities as needed.

Applicants must be current Lipscomb students (undergraduate or graduate) and have 4–8 hours free per week. Federal Work Study eligibility may apply, and Equal Opportunity Employment policies are

Qualifications

  • Must have previous experience with students with disabilities.
  • Ability to tutor and assist 1:1 with academic tasks.
  • Support planning, organizing, and social skills.
  • Eligible for Federal Work Study may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor students in the BEST program one-to-one, focusing on academic work, planning, organizing, and social skills.
  • Assist with afternoon/evening activity opportunities when available.

Job description

We are seeking peer mentors for the BEST program. This program works with students with disabilities who need tutoring and/or 1:1 assistance on academic, social, and other skills. Applicants should have previous experience with students with disabilities.

Peers will work 1:1 with students in the BEST program on academic work, planning, organizing, and/or social skills. There may be opportunities for afternoon/evening activities.

Must be a current Lipscomb student (undergraduate or graduate). Must have 4-8 hours a week free.

May be eligible for Federal Work Study.
