Job summary

Servingschools is seeking a certified Educational Technician II or III for Long Island School in the Portland area to support and supervise students, deliver small group instruction, and assist the teacher on a 34-hour work week.

Pay is competitive, between $25 and $30 per hour, commensurate with certification level and experience, with work aligned to student days and teacher PD days.

Qualifications

• Must hold Me DOE Ed Tech 2 or 3 certification.
• Experience delivering instruction and supervising students preferred.
• Ability to transport students when needed and work with teachers.

Job description

Take a beautiful ferry ride from Casco Bay lines each morning at 7:45 AM and return to Portland around 3 pm Mon thru Thur and work only half day Fridays returning to Portland around 12:45! At school you will work with an exceptionally talented experienced teacher. We currently have four wonderful students with whom you will provide regular education support/instruction, and provide supervision for lunch, snack and recess, as well as drive student in the school car as needed.

Long Island School is looking for a certified full-time flexible educational technician level two or three (ET II or III) for a 34 hr work week during the school year. (More hours are possible).

The Successful Candidate Will Have The Following Responsibilities

• be a positive collaborative team player

• plan/prep lessons/activities under the direction of the teacher
• support teacher planning and prep through collaboration or clerical tasks
• record student progress during lessons/assessments

• perform other duties as assigned

Pay rate and benefits for fully certified Ed Tech 2 or 3

This position has a competitive hourly pay rate, between $25 and $30 per hr, commensurate with certification level and experience. This position works during student days and on the teacher professional development days in which you participate.

Long Island is easily accessed from Portland via Casco Bay Lines, and the current ferry schedule accommodates the position by 7:45 am departure from Portland and 2:20 pm departure from Long Island.
