Job summary

California Giant Berry Farms is seeking a QC Inspector to conduct thorough berry inspections and ensure adherence to quality standards. You will enter data into quality systems, follow GMP and GAP practices, and communicate findings to QA management, growers, and sales teams.

The role requires 1–2 years in berry quality control, familiarity with food safety regulations, and the ability to work in cold environments. Collaboration, attention to detail, and occasional travel are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years’ berry quality control experience.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations.
• Analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic Excel skills.
• Basic electronic data entry and report generation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects (shape, color, softness).
• Ability to work in varying environments including cold temperatures.
• Team-oriented work style and collaboration.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Inspect berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries) according to California Giant standards.
• Enter reports into quality system platforms (computers/tablets).
• Follow GMPs and GAPs for handling of fresh berries.
• Email quality communications to QA management, growers, cooling, sourcing and sales (via iPad).
• Assist QA team with shelf-life studies, re-inspections, and lotting.
• Coordinate with customers during site visits.
• Pursue sustainability improvements in daily work and contribute to goals.
• Maintain safety and clean, sanitary work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
