Job summary

HEXA Containment in La Porte, TX seeks a Berm Assistant to assemble containment systems and support production in a high-output shop. You will follow work instructions, use welding equipment and hand tools, and help keep the line moving safely and on time.

The role requires a safety mindset, the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and willingness to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse. On-call rotation is required, and you will collaborate with a dedicated team to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6+ months of experience in manufacturing, assembly, or construction (preferred).
• Comfortable using hand tools and working with equipment.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse (heat/cold).
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50-75 lbs and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Reliable, team-oriented, and able to communicate effectively.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and consistent performance.
• Must be able to work an on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Assembly Execution: Build containment units using work instructions, blueprints, and shop drawings.
• Tool Operation: Use plastic welding equipment, machinery, and hand tools to complete production tasks.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company standards.
• Material Handling: Load materials, stage components, and move finished goods as needed.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and consistently wear required PPE.
• Work Area Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
• Inventory Support: Report damaged or defective materials and assist with tracking inventory.
• Team Collaboration: Work with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals.

Position Overview

As a Berm Assistant, you will be responsible for assembling containment systems and supporting production operations in a high-output environment. You’ll play a key role in ensuring products are built safely, and on time.

This role is for someone who can work with urgency, stay consistent, and take ownership of their output every day.
