A Day in the Life as a Benefits Verification Specialist

This role involves working directly with healthcare providers and insurance plans to verify patient insurance coverage for pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities include supporting healthcare providers with coding, billing, navigating reimbursement issues, managing prior authorizations (PA), and assisting with appeals.

• Ensure case compliance with company standards, providing quality service.
• Conduct benefit investigations by contacting payers to verify insurance benefits and address reimbursement barriers.
• Verify patient benefits, documenting coverage, costs, and access options.
• Identify coverage restrictions and ways to expedite access.
• Manage prior authorization processes and claims appeals.
• Report reimbursement trends or delays to management.
• Act as liaison for field reps, providers, and patients.
