Job summary

The City of Beaverton’s Human Resources department is seeking a Benefits Specialist who loves helping people and pays close attention to details. You will guide employees through benefits, leave, and life changes with clear communication and supportive service.

You’ll run Open Enrollment, orient new hires on benefits, and create clear communications to help employees make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field and 2 years of benefits experience.
• Experience administering employee benefits and knowledge of benefit laws.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Guide employees through benefits and leave options with clear, compassionate support.
• Lead Open Enrollment and new-hire benefits orientations.
• Enter data accurately in HRIS and vendor systems; audit invoices and reconcile with vendors.
• Collaborate with HR and payroll to ensure correct benefits and smooth processes.
• Maintain confidential information and support wellness and policy updates.
