Job summary

Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) in Alabama seeks a benefits administrator to oversee the administration of designated benefits programs including health, life, disability, leaves of absence, and other related benefits.

The role involves building strong internal client relationships, coordinating with external vendors, and supporting the annual open enrollment process. Requires a Bachelor's degree in HR or related field and 3+ years' experience in HR, payroll, and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in HR, Payroll, Benefits and Compliance.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems such as PeopleSoft.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Windows applications.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal clients (HR, Finance & Legal) and external vendors.
  • Manage transactions with external vendors and resolve benefit issues.
  • Answer employee questions about benefit plans and policies.
  • Provide financial metrics and cost analysis of benefit options.
  • Coordinate benefits-related audits and annual open enrollment.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.
  • Assist in preparing benefits communications and plan documentation.
  • Support vendor management and internal audit processes.

Purpose of the Position:

Under general supervision this position is primarily responsible for the administration of designated benefits programs, including but not limited to health, life, disability, leaves of absence, and other benefits.

Essential Functions:

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients including HR, Finance & Legal departments, as well as outside vendors
  • Manage transactions with external vendors and help resolve escalated benefit issues
  • Answer employee questions and resolve issues as they relate to benefit plans and policies
  • Provide financial metrics and perform cost analysis of benefit options
  • Coordinate audits with vendors as appropriate
  • Assists with annual open enrollment process including drafting communications, coordinating benefits fair, and assisting associates with questions
  • Perform monthly reconciliations
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices
  • Assist in the preparation of benefits-related communication pieces such as brochures, plan documentation, and other associate communications
  • Supports vendor management, SLAs review, and internal audit processes with outside vendors as needed
  • Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws. Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to management, including your supervisor, or the Safety Department.
  • Work safely 100% of the time.

Perform other duties as required.

Qualifikationen

QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree inHuman Resources, or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

A minimum of three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in the following area(s):

Human Resources, Payroll, Benefits and Compliance

Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.:

  • Working knowledge for ERP systems (i.e. PeopleSoft)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Windows Applications

Preferred Skills:

CEBS, GBA and/or PHR preferred
