State of Washington's Department of Social and Health Services seeks a DVR Social & Health Program Consultant 1 in Tumwater, WA. The BPPC supports benefits planning, analyzes complex eligibility, and coordinates social, financial, or health services for DVR participants statewide.

This is an in-office role with potential telework options discussed during interview. Responsibilities include educating participants on SSA rules and work incentives, assisting with documentation, and coordinating

Formación

• Master's or higher in social work, health/social science, public administration or related field
• Bachelor's in social work or related field; two years of relevant experience note
• Note: 1 year experience must be in a vocational rehabilitation setting

Responsabilidades

• Provide information to DVR participants about how wages impact benefits and recommendations to maximize wages while maintaining benefits
• Educate and strategize with participants to work and earn more using work incentives (IRWE, Blind Work Expenses, Subsidies, Special Conditions, Student Earned Income Exclusion)
• Educate Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and Community Rehabilitation Programs on SSA and DSHS program rules
• Provide guidance to participants and advocates to complete work incentive documentation
• Educate to empower participants about financial literacy and self-sufficiency
• Analyze benefits to create individualized consultation presentations for meetings with VRCs and others
• Provide SME assistance in applying for Social Security benefits and other DSHS benefits
• Promote Washington’s Poverty Reduction Plan and support partnerships with housing authorities

Educación

Master's degree or higher in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field
