Job summary

The Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry (JIB) seeks a temporary Benefits Contribution Processor in Flushing, NY for 3-6 months, with potential to convert. This onsite role runs Monday–Friday, 8:30AM–4:30PM and handles payroll contributions and benefits eligibility.

Under supervision, you will review submissions for accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with Legal, Accounting, and Benefits Administration to ensure compliant payroll practices.

Qualifications

• Some college or equivalent education preferred.
• 1–2 years payroll bookkeeper experience desired.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing, reconciliation, and compliance.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process employer payroll contributions.
• Review submissions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Investigate and resolve contribution discrepancies and reporting errors.
• Provide support to contractors by addressing questions, concerns, and payment-related issues.
• Collaborate with Legal, Accounting, and Benefits Administration to ensure accurate payroll contributions.
• Process the Job Targeting Fund for payroll.
• Scan documents as needed.
• Update members’ information and eligibility in the system.
• Input, verify, and maintain data in spreadsheets and other data tools.
• Support internal and external stakeholders with requests and customer service.
