Benefits & HR Compliance Opportunity

TrendHR is partnering with an established healthcare organization to identify an experienced Benefits & Leaves Specialist to join its corporate Human Resources team on a temp-to-hire basis.

This is a full-time, in-office opportunity that is expected to begin as an approximately four-month temporary assignment with the intention of transitioning into a permanent position.

The role is ideal for an HR professional with strong hands-on experience in employee benefits administration, leave management, compliance, and employee support. The Benefits & Leaves Specialist will help administer benefits for employees across a multi-state organization while serving as an important resource for employees navigating benefits, leaves of absence, workplace injuries, and related HR matters.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with complex benefits regulations, and able to balance compliance responsibilities with a high level of employee service.

What You'll Do

  • Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, HSA, COBRA, ACA, 401(k), and other benefit offerings
  • Serve as a resource for employees regarding benefits questions, eligibility, claims, and coverage issues
  • Work directly with insurance carriers and benefit vendors to resolve employee and administrative issues
  • Manage and track FMLA, non-FMLA leaves of absence, ADA accommodations, and related documentation
  • Ensure leave and accommodation processes comply with applicable federal, state, and local requirements
  • Assist with Workers' Compensation claims, workplace injuries, required certifications, testing, and documentation
  • Process and reconcile monthly benefit invoices, identifying and resolving discrepancies between carriers, payroll, and internal records
  • Maintain accurate employee enrollment and contribution information within the company's payroll and HR systems
  • Process benefit additions, changes, and terminations accurately and on time
  • Support ACA tracking, compliance, and reporting
  • Assist with required annual filings and reporting, including Form 5500, Form 1095, EEO-1, and OSHA 300
  • Prepare and review employee benefit communications, new-hire materials, and required compliance notices
  • Maintain current knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, ACA, and other applicable benefits and leave regulations
  • Provide additional administrative and operational support to the corporate Human Resources team
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling employee and company information

What We're Looking For

  • 4+ years of employee benefits administration experience
  • Multi-state benefits experience strongly preferred
  • Hands-on knowledge of FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA, ACA, and leave administration
  • Experience working within an HRIS/HCM system
  • Ceridian/Dayforce experience strongly preferred
  • Experience preparing or supporting Form 5500, 1095, EEO-1, and OSHA 300 reporting
  • Experience with Workers' Compensation administration and employee leave tracking
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A service-oriented approach when assisting employees with benefits and HR-related questions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and sensitive employee matters
  • Comfortable working in a full-time, in-office environment

$28.00 – $31.00 per hour, based on experience.

This position will begin as a full-time, hourly temp-to-hire assignment through TrendHR. The temporary portion of the assignment is expected to last approximately four months, with the intention of transitioning the successful employee into a permanent position with the client.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for long-term employment, while having the opportunity to join the organization, learn the team and responsibilities, and demonstrate their abilities during the initial temp-to-hire period.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

  • This role offers a great opportunity for an experienced Benefits or HR professional who enjoys being the person employees and HR leaders can rely on when navigating benefits and leave questions.
  • Rather than focusing on one narrow area of HR, you'll have exposure to benefits administration, leave management, compliance, Workers' Compensation, vendor relationships, employee support, and HR operations.
  • Most importantly, this isn't intended to simply be a short-term project. The goal is to find someone who can become a long-term member of the HR team following the approximately four-month temp-to-hire period.

This opportunity is an excellent fit for someone who enjoys detailed work, understands the importance of compliance, and genuinely likes helping employees navigate important benefits and leave decisions.
