Job summary

Kids In Distress is seeking a part-time Benefits Enrollment Specialist to assist clients in Broward County with benefits enrollment applications and follow-up. The role includes home, virtual, and community settings, with flexible hours and some evenings/weekends.

The candidate should have a high school diploma (Bachelor's preferred), strong organization and case management skills, and experience with benefits programs. A Florida driver's license and transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some evening and weekend hours.
• Computer literate with solid Word and Excel skills.
• Must have transportation and Florida Driver's License with insurance (proof of insurance).
• Experience with benefits programs or case management is preferred.

• Collaborate with staff to assist referred clients with the benefits enrollment program and share knowledge.
• Attend benefit enrollment activities and meetings with funders as requested or in the manager's absence.

Kids in Distress is looking to hire a Part-time Benefits Enrollment Specialist to help our diverse population of clients in Broward County complete benefits enrollment applications and follow-up with referred clients.

This is a great opportunity for somebody looking to work flexible hours including some evening and weekend hours, who has excellent organizational and case management skills, and experience interacting with benefits programs or providing case management services.

ABOUT THE BENEFIT SERVICES PROGRAM

This service helps families navigate the complicated benefits system by supporting application completion and submission along with referrals to community organizations. This program is available to low-income families with children ages birth to 17 years old in Broward County.

As a Benefits Enrollment Specialist you will be responsible for providing benefits enrollment services for participants in their home, virtually, at community meetings, and special events in Miami Dade County. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Maintain participant files and submit monthly data and reports to Coordinator.
• Collaborate with other staff to assist referred clients with the benefits enrollment program, enrich skills and knowledge of benefits.
• Attend benefit enrollment activities and meetings with funders as requested or in the manager's absence.

Skills/Requirements

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred; and two (2) years of related experience.
• Ability to work flexible hours including some evening and weekend hours.
• Must be computer literate with a solid foundation in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Must have transportation and be willing to visit clients in their home. Valid Florida Driver's License with full access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage (proof of insurance is required.)
• Experience interacting with benefits programs or providing case management services preferred.
• Experience working with databases helpful.
