Job summary

The Centers in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Benefits Specialist to facilitate linkage between clients and services, including Medicaid, CHIP, and Marketplace options. This role involves researching client Medicaid status, assisting with applications, and coordinating with a treatment team to maintain benefits.

Ideal candidates will have a diploma or equivalent and CAC training, with strong ethics and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent and related experience in working with entitlements.
• Expertise in eligibility and enrollment rules and procedures.
• Training in the Marketplace and passed the CAC test for open enrollment.
• Knowledge of qualified health plan options and insurance affordability programs.
• Supports mission and values, teamwork, and ethical behavior.
• Adheres to confidentiality and professional standards under law and licensing boards.
• Sensitivity to persons of varying backgrounds and mental health experience.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and a diversified workload.

Responsibilities

• Provides clients with information and assistance regarding entitlements.
• Explains eligibility and assists with forms and referrals.
• Verifies insurance coverage and documentation for enrollment.
• Manages Medicaid/Food Assistance redetermination and tracking.
• Works with clients to ensure continued benefits and access to care.
• Conduites outreach and education about Marketplace options.
• Coordinates with service providers and case managers as needed.
• Maintains accurate records in the agency EMR.
