The Save Mart Companies in Modesto, CA is seeking a Benefits Coordinator to support the Benefits Department with health plans, voluntary benefits and the 401(k) plan. You will assist associates, liaise with third-party administrators, and ensure timely invoice processing.

Benefits Coordinator - Modesto, CA

Job Summary:

The Benefits Coordinator provides general support to the Benefits Department for the administration of health/welfare plans, voluntary benefits and the 401(k) Plan. This position assists employees with benefit questions and acts as a liaison between Associates and the company’s third-party administrator/vendor partners. This role is also responsible for timely processing of weekly and monthly invoices.

Responsibilities:

• Responds to employee information requests from third party benefits and 401(k)administrators
• Assists with dependent verifications and qualifying life events
• Instructs employees on basic benefit plan coverages
• Participates in User Acceptance Testing during open enrollment or any system implementations
• Acts as point of contact for death claims and vacation payouts
• Participates in health fairs and other wellness events
• Prepares and processes invoices for payment
• Manages incoming mail; processes, files or forwards accordingly
• Performs other duties as assigned

Hiring pay range: $23.13 - 26.02

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong customer service/communication (written and verbal) skills
• Ability to work efficiently, independently
• Effective time management/prioritization skills
• Attention to detail, following through on projects and handling multiple tasks
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of general office equipment (printers, copiers, fax machines, etc)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills

Experience:

1 year related experience

Education:

2 year/Associates Degree and/or equivalent experience/training

Other Requirements:

Must be able to work overtime, when needed
