The Benefits Consultant is responsible for helping the Business Consultants in developing the overall benefits strategy - which includes evaluating current offerings, evaluating and presenting proposed options, developing / updating contributions models, finalizing benefits options, and negotiating final rates for all Master Plan Benefits programs. The Benefits Consultant is also responsible for effective and efficient management of their assigned territory, as well as assisting on a national level as needed.

The Benefits Consultant is the Benefits expert for their assigned sales region and is required to maintain an active Group Life & Health Insurance License with each of their assigned states. The Benefits Consultant also work outside of their assigned sales region from time to time as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Expert level of knowledge: Benefits Strategy Development Benefits / Market Trends Open Market Offerings & carriers (for comparison purposes) Medical Benefits Ancillary Benefits Voluntary Benefits Benefit Implementation Rules & Timelines Contribution Modeling Underwriting Rules & Guidelines Effective development / utilization: Communication & Presentation of Benefits Program Negotiating & finalizing benefits offerings Management of their assigned territory Developing strong relationships with the Benefits Consultants. Other duties as assigned.

Marginal Functions Build, maintain and promote relationships with team members, peers across disciplines, and all other company team members ensuring effective coordination of communications and services affecting clients. Attend webinars and training to stay up to date on best practices related to the company and department. Complete projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education & Experience Bachelor's level degree required Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in field Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of insurance experience preferred Required Licenses and/or Certifications Active Broker's Group Life & Health license required. Stress Management: Ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly and effectively, especially when dealing with client concerns. Communication Demands: Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with employees, managers, clients and external vendors. Cultural Sensitivity: Communicate with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity. Written Communication: Prepare clear and concise documentation, including emails and notes. Verbal Communication: Conduct presentations and employee training sessions; provide clear instructions and support to clients, employees and managers. Environmental Conditions Indoor, office environment. May occasionally have moderate noise level from copiers, W2 or check printers, or co-workers.
