Job Description

What You Need to Know (Job Overview)

You will serve as the first point of contact for benefit escalations, HR inquiries, and guidance on plan provisions. Benefits include Health and Welfare, Defined Benefits, and Defined Contribution Plans. You will also work on improving benefits administration processes, review employee communications, perform client acceptance testing, resolve HR tickets, conduct research, respond to appeals, analyze data, and perform audits. Ability to analyze trends, summarize findings, and recommend improvements is essential.

The role can be located anywhere; however, if based on the West Coast, you must be willing to work primarily East Coast hours (6 of 8 hours).

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer non-union employee benefit programs according to plan provisions and organizational guidelines.
  • Serve as the primary contact for benefit escalation tickets.
  • Assist with RFI, RFP, and implementation of new benefit offerings.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for benefit administration processes.
  • Monitor employee hours to comply with federal mandates (e.g., ACA 30-hour rule).
  • Prepare and update regulatory notices such as the Summary Annual Report and Annual Funding Notice.
  • Ensure procedures and vendor requirements comply with regulations and plan provisions.
  • Address participant and retiree complaints and manage vendor relationships, including testing and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate plan participant data and support annual plan audits and valuations.
  • Perform other duties within the Total Rewards department, including project management.
Salary Range

The salary range is $50,000 - $60,000 annually. No annual bonus is offered. Salary will be reviewed based on location and experience.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 1 year of related experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of benefits principles, excellent communication skills, and intermediate Excel skills.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 6 times a year.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HR ServiceNow system.
  • Experience supporting benefits in large organizations with 5,000+ employees.
