Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for researching, analyzing, evaluating, and administering corporate benefit plans and programs. Monitors benefit trends, stays abreast of benefits legislation, provides advisory services to employees and managers, acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers, coordinates filing and maintenance of regulatory plan documents, coordinates benefit program initiatives, and provides overview of benefits during new employee orientation.

Essential Responsibilities / Duties
  • Researches, analyzes, evaluates, and administers benefit plans and programs.
  • Surveys market data to determine company’s competitive position in employee benefits.
  • Plans, develops, and redesigns company benefits programs and analyzes benefit costs.
  • Present recommendations for changes or enhancements to benefit offerings to management.
  • Builds models and reporting tools to manipulate raw or processed data efficiently.
  • Provides problem resolution and research on cost savings opportunities.
  • Processes benefit documents and government reports to ensure compliance with regulatory policies such as Form 5500s, PBGC filings, and employee disclosures.
  • Educates employees and facilitates requests for retirement/pension plan distributions.
  • Creates and delivers new hire benefits orientation; provides training on use of online employee self‑service modules, oversees enrollment and qualifying events changes.
  • Plans and coordinates annual renewal and open enrollment periods.
  • Facilitates and/or coordinates benefit program initiatives and employee education programs.
  • Monitors internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Processes transactions on HRIS application; sets up new vendor interfaces, performs quality assurance testing, and production release.
  • Reconciles interfaces; researches and responds to carrier‑identified discrepancies.
  • Performs routine audits to ensure accuracy of data and reporting metrics of participation.
  • Provides customer service and employee counseling; counsels employees on plan provisions; responds to and resolves escalated employee problems; ensures all customer service needs are met during office hours.
  • Maintains vendor relationships: provides census data, reports, represents BMC at internal and external meetings, develops professional relationships with vendors.
  • Maintains internal invoice database, assists finance, treasury on vendor payment discrepancies.
  • Leads projects as needed; assists junior staff; may provide direction to benefits staff members.
  • Adheres to departmental and hospital standards, including performance, conduct, patient rights, infection control, and safety procedures.
Job Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (CEBS, Master’s, or business degree) in Human Resources or Business Management, or equivalent experience required.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: N/A.
  • Experience: At least 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources or related field, preferably in administering benefits programs.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong project management skills, problem solving, decision making, organizational and interpersonal skills, excellent communication and writing skills; proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with Workday and Kronos.
Compensation

Salary range: $78,000.00 – $113,000.00. This range is based on minimum job qualifications and considers education, experience, skills, certifications, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Additional compensation includes competitive benefits, discretionary bonuses, merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee well‑being.
