We are working with an organization in Bethesda, MD, that is seeking a Benefits Administrator to join its HR team. This position will focus on benefits and leave administration while partnering closely with employees, managers, and HR leadership.
The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of experience in HR, benefits, leave administration, or employee relations and be bilingual in English and Spanish.
What You’ll Do
- Administer employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, retirement, wellness, commuter, and spending account programs.
- Assist employees with benefits questions, enrollment, and general benefits-related support.
- Support benefits communications and employee education initiatives.
- Manage and coordinate leave of absence cases, including disability and accommodation requests.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding leave policies and procedures.
- Help ensure benefits and leave programs are administered in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee and benefits information within the HRIS.
- Assist with audits, reconciliations, funding requests, reporting, and other benefits-related processes.
- Analyze benefits and employee data and assist with ongoing reporting needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and operational efficiency.
- Handle sensitive and confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
What We’re Looking For
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
- 2–4 years of experience in HR, benefits administration, leave administration, or employee relations.
- Experience supporting LOA, disability, ADA accommodations, or benefits administration.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain HR policies and programs clearly to employees and managers.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage confidential employee information appropriately.
- Strong Excel and data management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday or another HRIS platform.
- Knowledge of benefits and leave administration processes and regulations.
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations.
