Job summary

The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) is seeking a Benefits Accounting Specialist to manage the maintenance and reconciliation of group and policy holder premium accounts, post payments, and respond to inquiries. The role requires strong knowledge of GAAP, COBRA, and IRS code sections, with emphasis on HIPAA confidentiality and customer service.

Qualifications

• 2 years of bookkeeping experience; 1 year in maintenance, analysis and reconciliation of insurance or benefits accounts
• Equivalent combination of education/experience: 30 semester hours including 6 accounting hours per year of required experience
• Preference: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• Experience with Excel/Access or related databases

Responsibilities

• Post payments accurately within four business days
• Reconcile accounts within five business days
• Process queries, reports, and special projects within deadlines
• Provide timely guidance on billing/reconciliation matters to internal and external customers
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and respond to inquiries about policies and procedures
