Qualifications

  • Experience with HRIS systems (PeopleSoft or Workday) preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple external recordkeeper relationships.
  • Strong communication, organization, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze employee benefit plan financial activity, funding, participant transactions, vendor reporting, payroll and HRIS interfaces, and related accounts to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, compliance, and audit readiness.
  • Prepare analyses, account reconciliations, schedules, documentation, and management reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements and support compliance initiatives related to employee benefit plans while assisting with audits, corrective actions, and process improvements.
  • Manage relationships with recordkeepers, trustees, third-party administrators, actuaries, auditors, and other external vendors to support effective plan administration, data accuracy, audits, regulatory filings, and compliance activities.
  • Provide operational and compliance support for Olin's employee benefit programs, including welfare, non-qualified deferred compensation, long-term disability, and other retirement-related plans.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Accounting, Tax, and external service providers to investigate discrepancies, resolve operational issues, support benefit plan funding activities, and maintain accurate benefit plan records and reporting.

Title: Benefits Accounting SpecialistLocation: Clayton, MOSalary: $88,400 - $134,000Schedule: Hybrid with 2 days remote

The Benefits Accounting Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the accounting, financial reporting, audit, and compliance activities associated with Olin's U.S. employee benefit plans. Working closely with Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, Tax, and external service providers, you will help ensure the accuracy of benefit plan accounting, regulatory reporting, funding activities, and operational processes while supporting Olin's overall benefits compliance objectives.

What You'll Do
  • Perform analyses, reconciliations, and audits of employee benefit plan financial activity, funding, participant transactions, vendor reporting, payroll and HRIS interfaces, and related accounts to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, compliance, and audit readiness.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree*; degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant retirement plan or employee benefit plan work experience
  • Experience using Human Resource Information Systems - PeopleSoft/Workday preferred
  • Experience handling multiple external recordkeeper vendor relationships
  • Superior communication (verbal and written), organization, time management, interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Must be able to manage multiple processes and work well under time sensitive deadlines, must demonstrate strong attention to detail and be team-oriented
  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word proficiency
