About the Agency

The Mississippi Division of Medicaid responsibly provides access to quality health coverage for vulnerable Mississippians. Medicaid provides health coverage for eligible, low-income populations in Mississippi. These populations include children, low-income families, pregnant women, the aged and disabled.

This position is located with the MS Division of Medicaid in the Central Office Long Term Care Eligibility Unit. The Benefit Program Team Lead Coach is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of benefit programs by providing oversight, guidance, and support to staff. This includes maintaining accuracy and timeliness in case processing, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, fostering staff development, and promoting teamwork to deliver high-quality services that meet the needs of clients and uphold program integrity. This role ensures the team meets productivity and quality benchmarks, facilitates training and professional development, communicates operational updates, and fosters a collaborative, accountable work environment. The Team Leader also supports hiring, onboarding, and continuous improvement efforts to ensure effective service delivery and staff growth. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: accurately reviewing client data in the computer system; reading and comprehending the policy manual and obtaining a general working knowledge of Medicaid policies and programs; keeping abreast of policy updates and changes; assist with training of new office staff. Reviewing documents in LTSS. Serve as the first point of contact for staff regarding case-related questions, policies, and procedures. Lead daily huddles to disseminate policy updates, procedural changes, and other critical information in a clear and concise manner. Monitor and verify staff timekeeping, travel claims, and leave requests in Workday for timeliness and accuracy.

What you'll need to be Successful

Successful candidates must have a positive attitude, be ready and willing to learn and grow, have strong attention to detail, strong communication skills, and excellent organizational skills. Background in Long Term Care Casework and reviewing Long Term Care cases. Knowledge of LTSS procedures. Ability to manage various tasks and must be deadline oriented and organized; and utilize reports for timely maintenance of assigned applications and caseloads.Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and strong customer service in all interactions.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of experience. Agency preferred qualifications:Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of Long-Term Care experience. Long Term Care Case Review experience. Working knowledge of LTSS.
