Job summary

Alera Group is seeking a Benefit Analyst to join our Employee Benefits team in a hybrid capacity. You will help attract, retain, and support employees through innovative benefits solutions and deliver exceptional client service.

The role requires 2–3 years in employee benefits, strong analytical abilities, and proficiency in Excel and MS Office. You will build trusted client relationships and contribute to benefit data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in employee benefits or related field
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and MS Office; strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Partner with Consultants and Producers to support client benefit strategy and service initiatives
• Review and monitor ongoing client projects, deliverables, and service requests
• Assist in the management of complex employee benefits accounts and client engagements
• Analyze benefits data, financial information, and plan performance to support client decision-making
• Research benefits, compliance, and industry-related topics to support client needs
• Review client communication materials and benefit documentation for accuracy and completeness
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, vendors, and internal partners
• Support special projects, reporting initiatives, and process improvement activities

The Opportunity

At Alera Group, our Employee Benefits team helps organizations attract, retain, and support their employees through innovative benefits solutions. As a Benefit Analyst, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional client service, building trusted relationships, and helping clients navigate the complexities of employee benefits.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience working in employee benefits or a related field
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Strong time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Insurance, Risk Management, Human Resources, Benefits, or a related field
• Experience supporting employee benefit plan administration or consulting activities
• Active Health, Life, and Accident Insurance License or ability to obtain licensure
• Experience working with insurance carriers, vendors, and employee benefits clients
• Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience analyzing benefits-related financial or operational data
• Knowledge of employee benefits compliance and regulatory requirements
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and industry education

Compensation

• Salary Range - $60,000–$80,000 annually

Additional Information

Work Arrangement

This position is Hybrid

• Remote - This role is primarily remote.
• Hybrid - This role follows a hybrid work arrangement, combining in-office and remote work based on business needs and manager expectations.
• In-Office - This role requires regular on-site attendance at the designated office location.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel may be required to support office implementations, training, and collaboration with project teams.
