Position Overview

The Bench Technician-Paint Prep position is primarily responsible for performing sanding and bodywork repair of antennas. This is a 1st Shift position.

Responsibilities

1. Complete taping and sanding of antenna exterior.
2. Perform bodywork and repair on antennas.
3. Follow approved documentation such as repair orders, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), and Work Instructions (WI).
4. Use shop tools and equipment.
5. Ensure traceability of components used in assembly on manufacturing orders.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Experience

• Previous experience with shop tools in a production environment preferred.
• Experience performing bodywork, painting, or sanding tasks preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, squat, handle objects, reach, and communicate. May occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment

Moderate noise level. DOT-FAA Safety Sensitive Position.
