Job summary

Gage Bilt Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Tool Assembly Technician for high-mix, low-volume bench assembly of pneumatic and hydraulic rivet tools. This non-line role focuses on precision assembly and engineering support rather than conveyor-based production.

You will read data sheets, follow instructions, test assemblies, and document results while collaborating with quality and engineering teams to drive product improvements. Safety, accuracy, and documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2–3 years of mechanical or bench assembly experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read data sheets and equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

• Assemble tools and components per data sheets, work instructions, and manuals.
• Test assemblies and document results against engineering and quality requirements.
• Troubleshoot assembly issues and support product improvements.
• Evaluate and document returned products for warranty and repair analysis.
• Review and suggest updates to manuals for clarity and accuracy.
• Maintain serial number logs and assembly documentation.
• Communicate inventory shortages and assembly concerns to appropriate teams.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Recommend improvements to assembly methods, tooling, and efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
