Responsibilities:

• Follow weekly company sales program to attain maximum sales volume.
• Achieve budgeted gross profit figures as established by Meat Merchandising Department.
• Prepare all meat records as required by Accounting & Merchandising Departments.
• Follow all company policies related to cutting, weighing, pricing, packaging, and displaying of merchandise.
• Unload trucks and maintain backroom storage.
• Maintain coolers and freezers to standard.
• Control inventory effectively.
• Reinforce sanitation, safe food handling practices, security, safety, and company guidelines.
• Assist guests and maintain good customer relations.
• Consult with Store Manager to review meat operations and planning.
• Schedule department staffing.
• Ensure department compliance with company standards (as measured by ALI audits).
• Manage and develop departmental staff, including performance reviews and training.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; 1-3 years meat or supermarket experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Knowledge of meat operations.
• Supervisory skills, including training and development.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Physical ability to bend, kneel, stand, and push/pull stock carts for extended periods.
• Meat cutting experience is a plus.
