Job summary

Valor Hospitality - The Lodge at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores, AL, is seeking a friendly Bell Attendant/Van Driver to greet guests, assist with check-in/check-out, and help with luggage. You will explain hotel facilities, manage lobby traffic, and maintain the bell stand and baggage room.

A valid driver's license and strong customer service are required; second language is a plus. Join a team that values hospitality, teamwork, and local beach flair.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent experience.
• Customer Service in a guest contact role preferred.
• Ability to communicate with guests, respond to questions and inquiries, knowledge of hotel services, local area events and activities.
• Ability to drive vans, limousines and automobiles and possess a valid driver’s license and have an excellent driving record as verified by a Motor Vehicle Report preferred.
• Second language may be desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage walk in traffic; open doors while guests are being greeted in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Accompany guests that need assistance with luggage to or from room.
• Explain all hotel facilities, their location in the hotel, hours of operation, and answer all questions about these facilities and any other hotel questions.
• Check luggage for hotel guests both for day and overnight.
• Maintain the designated stations in the lobby, standing alert to be easily summoned for fronts.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the bell stand, lobby and baggage room.
• Keep lobby door and windows clean when not busy with guests.
• Post the daily events board and entertainment board in the lobby.
• Maintain an open communication line through all shifts by proper use of interdepartmental shift log.
• Deliver messages and valet to guest rooms.
• Van Driver will perform pick-ups and drop-offs at the airport for the guests in a timely, friendly and professional manner and inspect vehicles. Perform the duties of a valet. Assist front desk with key inventory twice weekly.

POSITION PROFILE

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Able to lift, push, carry 20 - 40 lbs. Stand continuously for long periods of time. Continuous Standing as needed Lift, pull, push, bend, and move items to support the hotel and outlets.
