Job summary

Sun Valley Lodge invites applications for a Bellperson role, a frontline position supporting guests with luggage and requests. This seasonal winter opening runs December 1, 2026, through the season, with duties including luggage handling, delivering items, and promoting hotel services.

Applicants must hold a valid U.S. driver's license and be able to work indoors/outdoors, with flexibility for weekends and holidays. Customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Sun Valley Resort or willingness to learn.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
• Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods and lifting up to 75 pounds.
• Push/pull luggage carts up to 200 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and assist with luggage unloading and room transport.
• Deliver requested items and respond to guest needs.
• Respond to inquiries and promote hotel services in person and by phone.
• Provide up-to-date hotel information and recommendations.
• Keep lobby, courtyard and entrances clean and presentable.
• Maintain logs for deliveries and requests.
• Support other departments to contribute to overall hotel performance.

Description

The Bellperson plays an important role in creating a welcoming first impression for Sun Valley Lodge guests. This guest-facing position provides luggage assistance, delivers requested items, and supports overall guest services while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor. This is a seasonal position for Winter 2026/27. This position starts December 1st, 2026.

To be considered, you must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Upon arrival, greet and assist guests by helping unload luggage from a vehicle and transporting it to their room, personally carrying the bags, or using a luggage cart
• Upon departure, assist guests by transporting luggage from the room to the lobby and helping them load bags into the vehicle
• Respond to guest needs by promptly delivering laundry, newspapers, iron & ironing board, additional linens, etc. Maintain written log, recording these requests and deliveries
• Respond to inquiries and promote the hotel’s services, in person and on the telephone, by explaining products/services
• Provide the guest with up-to-date hotel information to enhance customer relations
• Keep abreast of local activities and establishments to answer questions and give recommendations or directions
• Assist other employees and departments in contributing to the best overall performance of the department and hotel
• Comply with the hotel conduct policy and always maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor
• Maintain the appearance of lobby areas, courtyard, and entrances to present customers with a clean and attractive facility

• Flexibility to work varying a schedule, including weekends, holidays, and early or late shifts
• Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
• Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds push/pull luggage carts up to 200 pounds
