Perform duties to identify, select and assemble a wide variety of Electrical/Electro-Mechanical/Mechanical components and assemblies.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform simple wire and soldering operations using current manufacturing processes. Must be able to perform Go/No Go tests on small lights, controls, and various other sub-assemblies/finished models.
  • Work from drawings, blueprints, schedules, shop orders, spec sheets, process instructions and test instructions, written or on CRT.
  • Review production schedules for specific periods and arrange for parts, materials, supplies, tooling, gauges, and other equipment to meet requirements.
  • Requisition and store materials. Pass KanBan cards to producing departments per defined guidelines.
  • Accumulate and move items between storage areas and the work cell. Must be able to fill out and submit requisitions, move tickets, finished goods tickets, and scrap tickets.
  • Select verify and identify quantity of materials. Record and/or call attention to shortages, possible rejected or damaged materials. Make necessary adjustments of tools, gauges and equipment. Make operational checks as required. Visually monitor work to maintain Quality Standards of nonconformance and/or operating difficulties.
  • Uses hand and power tools, pallet jacks, fixed gauges, jigs, meters, soldering irons, CRT, riveters, presses, terminating/ crimping machines.
  • Train new and existing employees to effectively work within the department and instruct them in all facets of Work Cell operation.
  • Must be able to use the computer to check the status of an order for a particular customer and check the status of a shop order. Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform duties to test, repair and tune a variety of regulating horns and sirens to meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Receive a variety of assembled regulating horns, sirens and similar emergency warning products at soundproof testing and tuning enclosure.
  • Visually check products for obvious defects, place products into appropriate holding fixture and make necessary electrical and other connections to test operational units.
  • Make necessary connections, calibrate and adjust sound volume level and sound frequency test instruments to base plate, activate product and observe instrument readings.
  • Adjust air gap, manipulate product control devices and adjust to specified standards.
  • Identify causes of malfunctions, make minor repairs and replace parts or tag units, indicating malfunctions and probable causes for correction by others.
  • Stamp identification and approval of products within standards, record number and reasons for rejects and call attention to recurring defects.
  • Use hand tools and precision sound measuring and recording instruments.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education, Skills, and Work Experience:

  • Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Wage Range: $16.42/hr - $20.87/Hr
