Division: Front Office (FRN006)
Bell Expeditor

Primary Responsibilities: Greet guests and visitors warmly and personally. Open vehicle doors for arriving and departing guests. Manage the flow and parking of vehicles in the front circle. Answer the telephone at the bell desk and coordinate assistance for guests. Direct luggage and valet attendants, record activities in the control log, assist with valet parking, luggage handling, and provide information about the resort, recreational facilities, restaurants, and local attractions.

  • Greet and welcome guests in a warm, friendly manner, personalizing service.
  • Ensure prompt and courteous service by directing front service employees according to resort standards.
  • Open vehicle doors for guests.
  • Record all movements and ensure completion of requested services.
  • Coordinate duties among luggage/valet attendants and other staff.
  • Contact shuttle services for guest pick-up within the resort.
  • Communicate with the front desk regarding arrivals, departures, and deliveries.
  • Provide guests with information about the resort, recreational and dining facilities, Big Island attractions, and local activities.
  • Answer phone calls promptly, using the guest’s name.
  • Respond to and resolve guest complaints and concerns.
  • Ensure shuttle schedules are maintained and items like golf bags are delivered.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Assist LVA with parking, vehicle retrieval, luggage handling, and other duties.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the work area and lobby.
  • Assist in other front office positions as needed.
  • Transport guests within the resort.
Working Conditions:
  • Work outdoors at the Porte cochère.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, with overhead cover.
Work Hours:
  • Be flexible to work shifts and days as determined by management.
  • Work in excess of 40 hours per week if needed.
Equipment Use:
  • Telephone and radio
  • Guest vehicles with standard and automatic transmissions
  • Electric cart
  • Resort shuttle
Mental and Physical Demands:
  • Handle irate guests calmly and courteously.
  • Lift and carry luggage and golf bags weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Bend, reach, and load/unload heavy luggage and golf bags.
  • Push and pull luggage carts over 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, and climb in/out of vehicles during shifts.
Communication Demands:
  • Direct other employees effectively.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (no violations in the past 3 years).
  • Maintain a pleasant, friendly demeanor.
  • Multi-task efficiently.
  • Physical ability to operate shuttle if required.
